Chiropractic Care for the Whole Family
Having been a Chiropractor for over 14 years now, it's been my privilege to work on many people, some as young as 20 minutes old and some as old as 94. With this background I can say with confidence that, with very rare exception, everyone can benefit from Chiropractic care. The biggest distinction that needs to go with this statement is that not everybody can benefit from the same type of chiropractic care.
When most people think of Chiropractic care, they think of traditional manual Chiropractic where there is a loud "pop" in the joint being adjusted. For some people, this technique is very effective and provides them with a great deal of relief. For others, the manual technique doesn't suit them - it may feel too aggressive, stir up old injuries or simply not provide any relief. It's for this reason that I predominantly use an instrument assisted, low force adjusting technique known as "Torque Release Technique" (TRT)when I am adjusting my patients.
TRT is a gentle, relaxing and effective Chiropractic technique that has been validated in placebo controlled studies. Many of my patients come to me because they recognize the need for getting adjusted and are more comfortable with the low force "no cracking" approach to Chiropractic. Many people find the adjustments so relaxing that they "zone out" during their adjustments and sometimes even fall asleep!

Conditions Treated
My approach to Chiropractic focuses on re-balancing your nervous system through the use of the different techniques I have learned. These imbalances can present themselves symptomatically in many ways. Below is a short list of the types of symptoms that can be created by an imbalance in your nervous system.

A Quick Word About Treating Children
In my practice, I have treated many children. Working with children is one of the things that I really enjoy about being a Chiropractor. Sometimes, people will ask "Why would a child see a Chiropractor?".
Children, while more resilient and elastic than adults, still have more than their fair share of bumps and bruises as well as undergoing rapid shifts in their biomechanics. Starting with birth, (which is hard on both mother and child) to crawling and walking (and all the falls and spills that go along with that learning curve), growing up is filled with many opportunities to be knocked out of alignment.
Children, until they are older, rarely complain of pain. What parents will notice instead is a change in demeanor, colic in infants, clumsiness or one foot being turned out compared to the other. In short, if your child becomes grumpy, clumsy or isn't moving quite right, they should see a Chiropractor.
When I treat children, I use very light fingertip pressures. I usually don't even use my adjusting instrument till they are 5-6 years old. Children typically respond more quickly than adults as, for the most part, they have better nutrition, less stress and fewer old traumas to work out of their system to recover.
